- Forensic Medicine & Toxicology is a multidisciplinary subject bridging medicine & law. It deals with the application of medical knowledge for legal purposes, such as crime-related investigations solving sensational cases appraising the law courts to dispense justice.
- The department provides training to students in performing medico-legal examinations such as age estimation, wound assessment, examination of survivors of sexual assaults and accused persons of rape, and also a drunken person.
- Educates ethics to medical students, applying standard guidelines for safe practice, and protecting themselves from civil torts, consumer, and criminal cases that may arise while dealing with patients.
